Description:
The Software Integration Engineer plays a critical role in delivering fast, reliable, and secure software deployments across a wide range of high-performance computing environments.
The Software Integration Engineer serves as the Tier 3 technical escalation lead, collaborating closely with Operations & Maintenance teams to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Generate documentation for the full software stack.
- Update software for sustainment support.
- Execute test codes for characterization of software performance.
- Provide software product ownership for HPC tools.
- Work in a fast-paced environment and switch between various architectural paradigms.
- Orchestrate and manage complex configuration changes and software updates across production systems.
- Ensure every phase of the delivery lifecycle adheres to the highest standards of security, compliance, and performance.
- Collaborate closely with Operations & Maintenance teams to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues.
- Conduct in-depth root cause analysis.
- Develop automated remediation strategies that improve system stability, prevent recurrence, and enhance long-term operational efficiency.
Position Required Skills:
- Ability to integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software.
- Basic Linux system administration skills and shell scripting.
- Working knowledge of CM tools, web documentation, and issue tracking.
- Experience using the Linux CLI and Linux Tools
- Experience with IaC principles and automation tools using Ansible
- Experience developing with Python to develop custom Ansible modules
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, containerd, Podman
- Experience creating Helm Charts to deploy containerized services in a Kubernetes environment
- Experience with DevOps/GitOps principles, concepts, and best practices creating release candidates for deployment, maintaining, and troubleshooting pipelines
- Working knowledge of Git, including branching strategies and tagging
- Experience developing comprehensive, high-quality technical documentation for new products and modifications such as installation guides, troubleshooting run books, and architectural diagrams
Position Desired Skills:
- Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence)
- Familiar with Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies
- Familiar with Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools such as Netbox
SIE3 Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and have at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience with integrating, installing, configuring, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
The individual shall have five (5) years full time Computer Science directly related work that can be substituted for a degree and have at least eight (8) years of demonstrable experience.
An industry recognized professional certification, as defined in the TT0s, may substitute as one (1) year experience.
A Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two (2) years' experience.
Salary Range: $201k-$246k (Annually)
The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
