Description:
Analyzes user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
Analyzes system requirements and leads design and development activities.
Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies.
Provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations.
Develops technical documentation.
Develops system architecture and system design documentation.
Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
Has ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
Provides system engineering services and support HPC System Design & Engineering organization in support of the HPC CAPBILITIES program.
Supports the team’s efforts to develop and maintain the architectural direction and methods of HPC systems to include aspects of compute, memory, interconnect, network, and storage architectures to meet current and future mission requirements.
Supports the development, test, and integration of commercial and custom HPC computing solutions as needed to support the overall HPC mission.
Supports and provides rigorous end-to-end systems engineering services through the entire HPC development and acquisition life cycle.
Develops program level requirements management process and establishes a requirements baseline to tailor for each system.
Contributes to and/or delivers systems engineering documentation at both program and system level.
Develops risk management process to include risk management plan and risk register.
Proposes and evolves HPC architectural concepts and features.
Ensures consistency with strategic plans and commercial vendor roadmaps.
Analyzes and documents alternatives among competing architectures.
Justifies architectural elements based on mission applications and proxies.
Delivers documentation of architecture, including description of unique architectural features and diagrams that illustrate structure and functions of architecture.
Specifies, recommends, and/or analyzes various aspects of HPC systems including processor and/or accelerator technology, features, and performance; interconnect and network performance; fabric topology, technology, features and performance; memory capacity and bandwidth; storage hierarchy, capacity, technology, and performance; HPC-facing network structure, technology, features, and performance; and manufacturability, reliability, availability, serviceability, sustainability.
Establishes, expands, and/or focuses the mission application performance of each architecture concept, supported by abstract modeling where appropriate.
Position Desired Skills:
HSE-3 Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED plus fourteen (14) years of general system engineering experience.
HSE-3 Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university plus six (6) years of systems engineering experience.
HSE-3 Qualifications:
A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university required plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.
HSE-3 Qualifications:
A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university required plus four (4) years of systems engineering experience.
Salary Range: **$177k-$216k (Annually)
**The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
