20-021-006 SWE3 Software Engineer - 3 (Cloud DecSecOps Engineer)


Description:
We are seeking a fast-moving, mission-driven Cloud DevSecOps Engineer to join our CNMF DAT team. You are a software developer at heart, but somewhere along the way, you realized that writing code is only half the battle—the other half is architecting secure, scalable environments so that code actually runs. Your primary objective is to make life better for both the mission customer and the development teams. You will own the design, deployment, and security of cloud infrastructure that enables vital mission cognizance and automated workflows. You’ll be dropped into customer spaces, handed complex architectural challenges, and trusted to build resilient systems that don't crumble when someone looks at them funny.
Responsibilities:
  • Automate Everything: Write Python scripts and automation to glue disparate systems together. If you have to do it twice, you automate it.
  • Architect the Cloud: Design, build, and maintain robust infrastructure in AWS and/or Azure, ensuring our solutions are as scalable as they are secure.
  • Treat Infrastructure as Code: Manage deployments and configuration via code, because clicking around a web console manually is a sin.
  • Bridge Dev and Sec: Embed security into the pipeline from day one. You will ensure we operate compliantly without grinding development to a halt.
  • Elicit Requirements: Talk directly with end-users and developers to extract their true infrastructure requirements—helping them build what they actually need, rather than what they think they want.
Skills Requirements:
  • Python Proficiency: You are a developer at heart and know your way around Python (and the good news is, we won't make you touch JavaScript or center a div).
  • Cloud Expertise: Deep, battle-tested experience with AWS and/or Azure.
  • IaC Mastery: Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools, specifically Terraform or Ansible.
  • Sysadmin Chops: A solid foundation in system administration and Linux (because deep down, you know the problem is usually DNS).
  • Git Workflows: Familiarity with GitLab for day-to-day version control, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development.
Nice to Haves:
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development or engineering workflows (knowing how to effectively prompt your way out of a corner).
  • Proficiency with agentic AI harnesses and frameworks to automate complex, multi-step infrastructure tasks.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end SIGINT collection and analysis systems.
  • Experience with production CNO (Computer Network Operations) capabilities and operations.
  • Service containerization and orchestration experience using Docker and Kubernetes (because "it works on my machine" is not a valid deployment strategy).
YOE Requirement: 12 yrs, B.S. or 4 additional yrs in place of B.S.
Location: Contractor SCIF

$240k-$280k (Annually)*
