Description:
This Field Sight Design Engineer should have a strong background designing, documenting and implementing sight designs for multiple field sites in parallel efforts.  This individual should have experience / background in "hands on" field site designs (both at site and remote) to ensure effective system engineering practices and procedures are implemented throughout the design.  Documentation of the process and procedures are paramount as well as effective communication and collaboration.


Position Specific Requirements:
1) Strong background creating system drawing packages (Visio, etc.)

2) Interpret, understand & diagram connectivity requirements for all IT/Mission collect systems deployed to all field sites.                   
3) Understanding of Emergency Destruction Procedures (EDP) and implement order of emergency destruction when designing field sites.                                                                                                            
4) Understanding of Power, Space and Cooling (PSC) concepts to ensure proper power distribution throughout equipment, systems and racks.                                                                                               
5). Understanding of cable standards when completing site designs to include equipment naming conventions for proper equipment/cable labeling.                                                                                  
6). High level understanding of Enterprise routing, switching concepts, Headquarters & Field Site specific implementation, high availability requirements, Headquarter VLAN standards, IP address allocation schemes.                                                                             

7) Ability to create & maintain clear & detailed documentation, including well-defined standards, procedures, and explanations for design decisions.                        

Desired Skills:
1) Effective Communications: Clear & concise communication is essential to ensure all team members are aligned and informed.

2) Collaboration: Work effectiv4ly across divisions to gather and merge all requirements for a given field site to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive design approach is implemented.                    
3) Organization: This is a complex project with several deliverables throughout the year.  Must be able to provide meaningful updates to customers / end users both verbally and written via project status page in Confluence.

4) Documentation: Must be able to create and maintain clear and detailed site design documentation, including well-defined standards, procedures, and explanations for design decisions.  Ability to facilitate knowledge sharing and future references.

Contract LCAT Qualifications:
Twenty (20) years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required.
Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

CWIP Level I required at start; Level II required within 6 months.

Salary Range:
$155k-$224k (Annually)*
