Description:
Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288:
- Technical Process Area - Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal.
- Project Process Area - Project Planning, Project Assessment and Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Information Management, and Measurement.
- Enterprise (Organizational Project-Enabling) Process Area - Project Portfolio Management, Infrastructure Management, Lifecycle Model Management, Human Resource Management, and Quality Management.
- Agreement Process Area - Acquisition and Supply.
Required Skills:
1. Communicate verbally and in writing with ATI Team leads, to familiarize and to understand the ATI portfolio of projects and the multiyear strategy for the same, within Group, and communicate across Groups in Y3, as determined by the ATI Lead.
2. Attend project reviews and vendor meetings as necessary to gather the pulse of each project and provide verbal and written alerts and status reports to the ATI Lead on a daily and/or weekly and monthly basis, or as necessary.
3. Communicate in writing with ATI Lead and provide slide decks and reports to ATI Lead, as necessary. At a minimum prepare slide decks for up to, but not limited to, at least six (6) annual meetings.
4. Candidate must have a broad general background and the ability to read up on new knowledge related to ATI project technologies. Candidate must possess a general understanding of computer hardware, on-chip memory and external memory, and software architectures, including messaging interfaces between compute and memory, data transport and HPC ecosystems. Candidate should not be a specialized SME in only one narrow aspect of HPC or the above stated domains. This desired background knowledge and the ability to augment the same, is essential to be able to provide the technical management support to the ATI Lead.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED plus fourteen (14) years of general systems engineering experience.
OR
Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus ten (10) years of systems engineering experience.
OR
Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.
OR
PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience.
Salary Range:
$134k-$246k (Annually)*
* *The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
